The need for peace

In the past few years, conflicts and divisions have grown up between people, separating us according to religion, race, nationality or background. Such divisions hurt us all and also increase the vulnerability of many people to exploitation and abuse. ITLR wants to use running to bring nations, religions, and ethnic groups together. Together we are stronger and more peaceful.

Brussels Marathon

On October 1st  2017, the Brussels Marathon and Half Marathon will take place. We are planning to bring together a group of people from European and North African backgrounds, to run in solidarity, showing that we are all human and can live in peace together. We will also be attempting to raise money for the work that we do here in Brussels to reduce the vulnerability of all people to exploitation.

Details

When inscription opens for the Brussels Marathon, we will be applying for 20 charity places. If you run the Brussels Marathon or Half Marathon with our "Solidarity Group", you will have to pay the inscription cost, and we do ask you to try to raise money for Oasis. We will provide you with a special running shirt and medal at the end of the event. There are free places for those who genuinely cannot afford the cost of inscription, please contact us if you feel you will need one of these places.
